    China tells citizens in Israel to leave ‘as soon as possible’

    BEIJING: China’s embassy in Israel on Tuesday (Jun 17) urged its residents to go away the nation “as quickly as attainable”, after Israel and Iran traded heavy strikes.

    “The Chinese language mission in Israel reminds Chinese language nationals to go away the nation as quickly as attainable through land border crossings, on the precondition that they will assure their private security,” the embassy stated in an announcement on WeChat.

    “It is suggested to depart within the course of Jordan,” it added.

    After many years of enmity and a chronic shadow battle, Israel launched a shock aerial marketing campaign final week in opposition to targets throughout Iran, saying they aimed to stop its arch-foe from buying atomic weapons – an ambition Tehran denies.

    The sudden flare-up in hostilities has sparked fears of a wider battle, with US President Donald Trump urging Iran again to the negotiating desk after Israel’s assaults derailed ongoing nuclear talks.

    Beijing’s embassy stated on Tuesday the conflict was “continuing to escalate”.

    “A lot civilian infrastructure has been broken, civilian casualties are on the rise, and the safety state of affairs is changing into extra severe,” it stated.
