CAIRO: Israel stated it diverted a Gaza-bound boat on Monday (Jun 9) after the activists onboard, together with Swedish campaigner Greta Thunberg, stated they had been intercepted as they sought to supply aid to the blockaded Palestinian territory.
The Madleen departed from Italy on Jun 1 to carry consciousness to meals shortages in Gaza, which the United Nations (UN) has known as the “hungriest place on Earth”, with your complete inhabitants susceptible to famine.
The Israeli authorities had directed its forces to cease the “celebrities yacht” from reaching Gaza.
AFP misplaced contact with the activists onboard the Madleen early Monday morning after the organisers stated alarms sounded and life jackets had been being ready.
“When you see this video, we have now been intercepted and kidnapped in worldwide waters,” Thunberg stated in a pre-recorded video shared by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, the activist group working the vessel.
