    WASHINGTON: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Thursday (Might 8) urged India and Pakistan to take quick steps to de-escalate and have interaction in dialogue, as he pressed Islamabad to finish any assist for “terrorist teams”.

    The 2 nuclear-armed neighbours have engaged in deadly confrontations in latest days, after New Delhi blamed Islamabad for backing an assault on the Indian-run aspect of disputed Kashmir. Pakistan has denied the cost.

    Rubio, in calls with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Indian International Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, “emphasised the necessity for quick de-escalation”, a State Division assertion stated.

    “He expressed US assist for direct dialogue between India and Pakistan and inspired continued efforts to enhance communications,” stated spokeswoman Tammy Bruce.
