    BUENOS AIRES: Argentina will pull out of the World Well being Group (WHO), a presidential spokesperson stated on Wednesday (Feb 5), following President Donald Trump’s government order final month to tug the USA out of the worldwide well being group.

    Trump, who Argentina’s libertarian President Javier Milei considers an in depth ally, moved to exit the organisation on his first day in workplace on Jan 20.

    Milei ordered Argentina’s withdrawal due to “deep variations” relating to the WHO’s administration of well being points, notably the COVID-19 pandemic, presidential spokesperson Manuel Adorni stated, citing Argentina’s months-long lockdown underneath the earlier leftist authorities.

    Adorni additionally cited “a scarcity of independence from the political affect of different states”.
